This is one of the courses that opened the door for golfers in North Myrtle Beach, and it continues to send players home with a smile on their face.

Beachwood Golf Club opened its doors in 1968 featuring wide fairways, no housing and a location in the heart of North Myrtle Beach. Nearly five decades later, those traits continue to be at the heart of the course’s appeal.

The Gene Hamm design is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, allowing players to enjoy the area’s coastal beauty on a layout that is among the Grand Strand’s most player-friendly.

With an emphasis on customer service, quality greens and wide fairways, there is little wonder locals have voted Beachwood "The Most Player-Friendly Golf Course in Myrtle Beach.” Throw in a practice facility that includes an all-grass range, two large practice putting greens, practice bunkers and a chipping area, and Beachwood is a good place to spend a day.

Despite playing 6,347 yards from the white tees, Beachwood is one of the area’s "easiest” courses, assuming you believe there is such a thing, with a USGA slope rating of 127. Water only truly threatens on six holes and bunkers are at a minimum, so players who don’t play well have only themselves to blame.

That’s a winning combination for golfers of all skill levels, a fact that has been demonstrated for more than 50 years. There have been more than 1 million rounds of golf played at Beachwood, a number that is a powerful testament to the course’s enduring popularity.
