This visually stunning design is filled with Dye's infamous pitfalls for wary shots. Working with exceptional elevations and an excellent site, this course lives up to the Dye name.

Experience Pete Dye's Architectural Brilliance at Barefoot Resort

Hall of Famer Pete Dye’s only solo Myrtle Beach design calls Barefoot Resort home, and it’s everything you would expect from the legendary architect. The Dye Course is demanding, fun and varied.

The visual deception, waste bunkers and railroad ties for which Dye was long known are all on display at Barefoot, and golfers love the opportunity to test their game on a layout that demands they be at their best. The Dye Course provides ample room off the tee, provided you trust what the yardage books tells you as opposed to your lying eyes, which are vulnerable to the genius of Dye’s work.

Golf Digest has ranked The Dye Course among "America’s Top 100 Greatest Public Courses” and after one trip around the layout players are often begging for another shot. The par-3 5th hole, which features water running along the right side and plays to a narrow green, is among many unforgettable tests.

Speaking of par 3s, the 162-yard (white tees) 15th hole plays over a ravine and a host of par-killing bunkers, requiring as much mental fortitude as it does physical skill, but the layout isn’t defined by its par 3s.

The 9th and 18th holes close each side with unforgettable par 4s, each of which brings danger - in the form of water - into play but rewards quality play with an opportunity to make par or even birdie for the more skilled among us.

Therein lies the beauty of The Dye Course: it’s a tough test but players have room to hit the ball, and the opportunity to score will be there if you’re playing well.

The Dye Course has become one of the area’s premier big-event venues, serving as the longtime host of the Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am and the World Amateur Handicap Championship’s Flight Winner’s Playoff.

If your golf group wants to play one of the best layouts in not just Myrtle Beach but all of South Carolina, add The Dye Course at Barefoot Resort to your must-play list.
