As the most difficult of the three courses at Legends Golf Resort, Moorland is a wicked gem, featuring numerous elevated tees, greens and forced carries. Golfweek named the P.B. Dye design a Top 100 Resort Course for 2019. It is easy to see why.

One magnificent feature of the Myrtle Beach golf market is the prevalence of courses designed by some of the game’s foremost designers and builders. Names like Nicklaus, Palmer, Strantz, Player and Fazio abound. But perhaps one stands slightly above the rest: Dye. Commonplace in Dye designs, water is an integral feature incorporated throughout Moorland’s par-72 layout. Players will find the rolling, mounding, generously wide fairways a pleasant challenge, along with large, undulating greens that require attention for each and every read.

Moorland opened in 1990 and remains a must-play experience for golfers looking for the biggest challenge at Legends. The back nine includes an incredible five-hole finish, with holes secluded amongst Carolina pines. The par-5 15th requires careful navigation around an invasive creek running the length of the hole and splitting the fairway 160 yards from the pin. The par-4 16th is drivable from all tees and is a great risk/reward challenge, and has an elevated green that really punishes players who go for the green and miss it. The finishing par-4 18th doglegs around a lake to the left and is as beautiful a final hole as it is fun to play.
