Located just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, the European-inspired International Club in Murrells Inlet has solidified itself as a favorite for golfers who travel from all over the world to play in Myrtle Beach. An exquisitely player-friendly layout that embraces its Lowcountry setting, the course was designed by famed architect Willard Byrd and flows effortlessly through Carolina pines, with occasional water hazards and marshy wetlands coming into play. And with five sets of tees to choose from, it is a great experience for players of all skill levels.

Measuring just over 6,800 yards from the back tees, the gentle tee-to-green mounding found at International Club makes for a fair but demanding round. It will require accuracy and strategic shot making to navigate the par-72 layout, with its perfect blend of doglegs, risk-reward par 5s and scenic par 3s. For example, the par-3 #11 is always a favorite, both for the beauty of the hole and the challenge it presents. Surrounded by water behind the green, players must avoid two ginormous greenside bunkers to give themselves a chance at birdie. Hitting the green in regulation here is an absolute must. And once you get there, the Sunday Ultradwarf Bermuda greens will roll as true as any surfaces in the area.

True to its name, one of the coolest parts of your experience at International Club will be walking the halls of the European-styled clubhouse, where many historic golf relics are on display for visitors’ enjoyment. Inside, there is also an inviting bar and restaurant, a space to grab a quick bite at the turn and a fully stocked pro shop.
