If you’re in search of a course that is fair off the tee and forgiving, this is the track for you. Just beyond the North Carolina state line in Calabash, N.C. lies the spectacular Crow Creek Golf Club. Anyone passing by on Highway 57 will find themselves wanting to check this course out, as its beauty is easily discernible amid the surrounding landscape. The course traces its roots to the 1990s, when the 500-acre farmland used for growing corn and tobacco was transformed into a top-ranked North Carolina golf course.
Known for its immaculate TifSport Bermudagrass fairways, immaculate, undulating V8 Bentgrass greens and abundance of wildlife, Crow Creek delivers a one-of-a-kind, links-style golfing experience. It offers a wide range of scenic holes on its coastal layout and a healthy variety of clubhouse amenities off of it. Minutes away from the beaches of the Brunswick Islands, this course is sure to fulfill all of your expectations of Carolina golf.
From beginners to experienced golfers, players will find five sets of tees at Crow Creek that present a variety of tests to each level of playing ability, making it a course that is equal parts challenging and scorable. Crow Creek offers a range of tees from approximately 5,000 yards for beginning players to 7,100 yards for those more experienced. Water hazards are plentiful here, with an intricate array of bunkers lining many of the fairways. On the back nine, you’ll encounter rolling hills and tree-lined fairways that cut through coastal woodlands. Its frequent golfers have deemed the course to be extremely playable with hazards and fairways that are easily distinguishable, making for a smooth day on the course.
While the on-course experience speaks for itself, a unique feature of Crow Creek is its extensive breakfast and lunch menu for not only golfers but the general public as well. There is ample space and an outdoor veranda for large numbers of people to enjoy a nice meal with an enjoyable view for some pre- or post-round fuel.
