Course Profile: Arcadian Shores

Throughout Myrtle Beach you will find great golf courses designed by some of the biggest names in golf course architecture, including Pete Dye, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, Mike Strantz and more.

And with the recent upgrades to Rees Jones’ Arcadian Shores Golf Club, the first-ever solo design of “The Open Doctor” promises to be heavily included in the discussion – and in traveling golfers’ vacation plans – moving forward.

Arcadian Shores is located near Myrtle Beach’s famed Restaurant Row and after a revamp a couple of years ago, Arcadian Shores is a must-play on your next Myrtle Beach golf trip. When you play Arcadian Shores you can expect large bunkers, sloping fairways, dense forest and fantastic greens. Plus, the course is located only half a mile away from the Atlantic Ocean.

In 2017, Arcadian Shores Golf Club underwent a major renovation to help improve an already-great layout and atmosphere. The grounds crew took out the old Bermuda greens to install new Sunday ultra-dwarf Bermuda greens. This grass will hold up great to the heat and even better to the cold! They also improved their irrigation system to help keep the golf course looking green and pure year-round.

Another notable improvement Arcadian Shores made was re-paving every inch of every cart path on the golf course, making it one of the smoothest rides in Myrtle Beach. Last but certainly not least, Arcadian Shores now boasts a brand-new clubhouse with the newest apparel, and a great porch overlooking the course to enjoy some great food and beverages after your round!

A great hole at Arcadian Shores is the par four 13th. Ranked as the hardest hole on the course, the 13th forces players to hit something less than driver off the tee. Even if players find the fairway, they will be left with a tough second shot over a lake. This is one of the most scenic holes on the golf course.

When you come to Myrtle Beach you might not think of Arcadian Shores immediately, but we suggest you do. From the new greens and clubhouse to the challenging but playable layout, it is one you won’t regret including on your trip itinerary!
